Jedburgh Jail History
Jedburgh Jail was built in the 1820's and sits on the site of the Royal Burgh’s medieval castle. This Victorian prison is now a museum of imprisonment and local history. It includes finds made during excavations upon nearby Dunion Hill Iron Age settlement and at Greyfriars Garden in the town. The Royal Castle of Jedburgh occupied the site from the 12th Century until 1409 when it was destroyed to deny its use to English Soldiers.
Paranormal Activity
The Jail has been the subject of many reported paranormal occurrences, apparitions have frequently been seen wandering the corridors and cells. Many have reported seeing a ghostly figure of a piper standing on the battlements. The Jail was highlighted in the media back in 2005 when another paranormal investigation team experienced extreme poltergeist activity within the jail. What will we discover when we step back in time at the haunted Jedburgh Jail?
Event Includes
Overnight access, cold supper buffet, tea and coffee served throughout the night, demonstration and use of paranormal equipment, Ghost Walk with Ian Lawman, psychic workshop with Ian Lawman, experienced paranormal investigators, late night vigils and paranormal experiments and post event discussions.
